Ulcerated hemangioma

Hemangiomas - the most common benign tumor of  infancy, and ulceration is known as frequent complication.

There are no effective treatment options currently available, and surgical management is the best treatment modality.  The age of the patient,  location, size and stage of growth or involution of  the hemangiomas  are important to consider.

Management: wound care products, debriding agents and advanced surgical dressings, management of infection, pain control, systemic and intralesional corticosteroids, flashlamp pulsed-dye laser, and interferon alfa-2a,
